Teamleader wins at The Next Web Europe Conference

Teamleader wins at The Next Web Europe Conference

In early April, Teamleader got selected for a number of big international events. First in line was The Next Web Europe Conference in Amsterdam. After lots of responses to our appeal to vote for Teamleader, we received the good news that we had been selected as one of 75 startups.

During two days, these international startups had the opportunity to pitch in front of a jury, for the chance to win two prizes: a marketing budget of EUR 25.000 in the Boost program, and the henQ-award worth EUR 100.000.

Three startups got to pitch once more on The Next Web's main stage during the final session of the conference. Teamleader was one of them.

We are very proud to announce that we took home the main prize at the Amsterdam conference, after an inspiring pitch by CEO Jeroen De Wit. Teamleader was picked as the winner by Dutch venture capital firm henQ, out of all participants in the Boost program.

Floris van Alkemade, managing partner at henQ, spoke highly of Teamleader: "We decided to put our money where our mouth is and back the best company that's present at The Next Web 2015. The level of the pitches was more serious this year. There were real companies with real value propositions. There was one particular company that stood out: they addressed a real need in the market, a big market which is still growing. They have traction, and there are three startups in this conference room who use their software. We decided that Teamleader, which has just started to conquer the Netherlands and many other countries in Europe under the leadership of Jeroen, is the winner of the Henq award."

Understandably, Jeroen De Wit is a very happy man: "Together with the Startups.be delegation, we were present at the conference to put Belgium further on the map, convince our fellow startups of Teamleader's value and to make important connections for our company's growth. I would dare to say we more than succeeded in our goals."

And the future? "As always, my gratitude first goes out to our team, our loyal customers and our many supporters. We couldn't have done it without them. We'll probably celebrate a bit this weekend, get some rest, and by Monday start working hard again to make the most of this fantastic achievement."

Jeroen De Wit

A man for whom 24 hours in the day would just be enough, if he could go without sleep. He has a seemingly endless stream of ideas and prides himself on always being on top of everything going on in his company. A real achievement, knowing that the question ‘who will start next week’ is already the norm at the weekly group meeting. And he is not merely outstanding at a professional level: on his rare weekends you can find him beaming as he rides his Italian horse in the hills. This is also often the only time when Jeroen does not look ahead, even if only to leave his followers grinning behind him.
